i've been writing up the meeting notes from last term (yep, very late i know, sorry) and was reminded that we discussed committing to visiting this wiki weekly. Hmmmm. Shall we give it a red hot go?
I've begun a blog. You can find it at
http://cncluster.globalteacher.org.au/
I'd really appreciate your views - constructive criticism welcome!
i need to experiment with a wiki to see which (platform? medium?) offers a more effective forum for my Cluster.
What do you all think about the 'Framework for Purposeful Teaching', alias E5?

I haven't added to my own cluster blog for ages, as no-one appeared to be using it. I know this is a widespread issue and a big question for discussion: how can blogs be really useful and worthwhile for teachers so that they use them? It takes a lot of work as the administrator, especially if others aren't adding to it.

Simon, I was lucky enough to visit the Pixar exhibition in Melb in the school holidays. The message was being portrayed very strongly, that it didn't matter how good the actors in a story are, or how clever the animations, what counted most was that it was a GOOD STORY. I am doing digital story telling with my year 7 and 8's and the story boarding is a significant part of this technology.

This looks good. I am not sure if this comment will work but lets hope so. At the Prin Meeting last week I was talking to the guy from Easy teach Teamboards, they are the oones that got the Department contract. He is going to head down this way neaxt week. If anyone wants to catch up with him let me know.

I am a member of several online communities and am constantly in awe of the networks of people who I have at my fingertips. These people not only help and assist with problems I have with computer programs for example, but help me stay focussed and come up with intereting new ideas to teach the students.
Now if I only had enough up to date computers in my classroom..................................

Great tips - how on earth do you keep up with all this? i'd like to, but time and energy only stretch so far. I hadn't heard about your Skype trialling. would be interested to hear about it some time.

It took me 10 minutes to find my way to this forum but i made it! Thanks heaps Simon for getting us started. The links you've posted on your home page sound very enticing - i hope i get a chance to look at them before you update them. is it possible to archive bits of a wiki?

Despite being a secondary teacher am teaching IT to primary school students to fill up my workload. Am starting to teach grades 3 and 4 kidspiration and would love some ideas in approaches or uses that other teachers may have used. Look forward to any comments

Yay! I learnt something new today. I now know what a wiki is - thanks to Simon Perry's great PD at Balmoral High School. We started off talking about digital portfolios but this is great too. Thanks Simon
